Section 2 – Essentials of training & coaching.
- Introduction to the field of strength & conditioning – The concept of strength and conditioning, importance, scope of practice, basic terms and terminologies of S&C, proficiencies of S&C coach, duties and responsibilities.
- Performance Testing & assessments – Strength, power, Anaerobic Capacity, local muscular endurance, aerobic capacity, agility, speed, balance, flexibility, anthropometry & body composition.
- Warm up & Flexibility training – Warm up, cool down, types os stretching techniques (static, dynamic).
- Program design – Program design for resistance training, program design for plyometric training, program design for speed & agility training, program design for aerobic endurance training.
- Periodization – Periodization hierarchy, periodization periods, applying sports seasons to the periodization periods, undulating vs linear periodization models, examples of periodizations.
- Injury prevention, & training injured athletes – Types of Injury, healing, reducing risk of injury and reinjury, goals of rehabilitation & reconditioning, program design,
Practical
- Exercise analysis – kinesiology, biomechanics

- Warm up, Cool Down and Stretches – warm up & cool down methods for different goals, types of stretches and methods of practice. Assisted stretching techniques. Using Foam rollers for different muscle groups.
- Exercise techniques for Resistance Training mode – Posture, technique, breathing, safety, spotting, cueing and teaching for exercise for all important muscle groups with different equipments including bodyweight, free weight, machines, resistance bands, and non-traditional implements like kettlebells, INDIAN clubs, landmines etc. with all the necessary progressions and regressions. Core Stability and Balance Training, variable resistance training, Sports Specific Goal oriented approach to resistance training.
- Plyometric training – Lower body plyometric drills, upper body plyometric drills, trunk plyometrics
- Speed & Agility training – Speed Drills, Agility drills
- Aerobic endurance training – performing cardiorespiratory training with or without equipments by understanding the principles. RPE & talk test methods during cardiorespiratory training session, HIIT, circuit training etc.
